It barely moves near the equator — roughly 17:35 to 18:20 across the year, as of 2026. We board about two hours before, so you are on the water well ahead of the light. Exact times are confirmed at booking.
Will I actually see the bats?
The Kalong flying-fox exodus happens most evenings around dusk, but it is wildlife, not a show — numbers vary with the season and weather. The Kalong sail is timed and routed to give you the best honest chance.
What if I get seasick?
Evening water around Labuan Bajo is usually calm, and the routes stay near sheltered islands. If you are sensitive, tell us when you book and bring your own motion tablets to be safe.
