Terms of Service | Golden Hour Sails Komodo Sunset Cruises

**These terms govern every sunset and evening cruise booked through Golden Hour Sails (sunsetcruisekomodo.com), a concierge booking service. Cruises are operated by Komodo Luxury, a Labuan Bajo operator founded in 2015. By reserving a golden-hour sail you accept the deposit, balance, cancellation, weather-rescheduling, and liability terms below. All figures are stated as of 2026 and are subject to change.**

Golden Hour Sails arranges short late-afternoon-to-dusk cruises around Komodo National Park, including the Kalong Island flying-fox exodus and private dinner or proposal sails departing Labuan Bajo. Reading these Terms of Service before you pay a deposit protects both sides. If any part is unclear, message our concierge before booking rather than after.

Who are you booking with?

Golden Hour Sails is the booking and concierge brand. It is published by Juara Holding Group. The vessels, crew, and on-water experience are provided by the operator, Komodo Luxury, an award-winning Labuan Bajo operator founded in 2015 whose reservations team handles bookings directly. Golden Hour Sails is not the vessel owner and is not a licensed financial, legal, insurance, or tax adviser. Where an experience is delivered by a third party, it is arranged via vetted licensed partners.

Your booking contract for the cruise itself is with the operator. Golden Hour Sails coordinates the reservation, payment routing, and communication, and acts in good faith to represent the details accurately.

How do deposits and balance payments work?

To confirm any private sunset cruise, a deposit is required. The remaining balance is typically settled before or on the day of departure, in line with the operator’s standard practice. Minimum party size for private sunset boats is commonly 2 pax, consistent with market norms such as East Cruise Komodo’s “Sunset Trip (minimum 2 pax).”

Payment stage What it covers When it is due
Deposit Reserves your date, vessel, and crew At the time of booking confirmation
Balance Remaining cruise fee Before or on departure day, per operator terms
Park fees Komodo National Park entrance and conservation levies Paid separately, direct — never included
Optional extras Dinner upgrades, decorations, photography Quoted and confirmed in writing before departure

Deposits may be paid by bank transfer or an agreed online method; balances are frequently settled on arrival, mirroring how regional operators like Green Rinjani structure a deposit plus cash-on-arrival balance. Exact amounts, currency (IDR or USD), and accepted methods are confirmed in writing per booking. No price shown on this site is a guaranteed rate until the operator issues your written confirmation.

Are Komodo National Park fees included?

No. Komodo National Park entrance and conservation fees are always excluded from cruise pricing and are paid directly, separate from what you pay Golden Hour Sails or the operator. This mirrors the wider market: AYANA Komodo’s “Golden Hour Escape” sunset dinner cruise package explicitly notes the Komodo National Park entrance fee is not included. Park fees are set by the authorities and may change without notice.

Your written quote lists exactly what the cruise fee covers. Anything not listed as included should be assumed excluded, including park fees, personal expenses, gratuities, and travel insurance.

What happens if the weather turns?

Sunset sailing depends on sea and sky conditions. Golden Hour Sails and the operator prioritise safety over schedule. If the captain or operator judges conditions unsafe, the cruise may be delayed, shortened, rerouted, or rescheduled.

  • Weather rescheduling. If a sail is cancelled by the operator for safety, we work with you to move it to the next available slot during your stay.
  • Refund vs. reschedule. Where a suitable reschedule is not possible, refund handling follows the operator’s policy communicated at booking. Rescheduling is generally offered first.
  • Seasonal risk. Peak season runs roughly April to October. The rainy months of roughly January to March carry higher cancellation risk, so early booking and flexible dates are advised.
  • Guest-initiated cancellations. Cancellations you request are subject to the operator’s cancellation and deposit terms stated in your confirmation.

Because a golden-hour cruise is a natural experience, we cannot and do not guarantee a specific sunset, a visible Kalong Island bat exodus, calm seas, or any particular outcome. Timings such as arriving at a viewpoint about 30 minutes before sunset, as operators like BaliToKomodo advise, are targets, not promises.

What are the limits of our liability?

Golden Hour Sails arranges your booking in good faith but does not own or operate the vessels. To the maximum extent permitted by Indonesian law:

  1. The operator, Komodo Luxury, is responsible for the safe conduct of the cruise, crew, safety equipment, and on-water decisions.
  2. Golden Hour Sails is not liable for acts, omissions, delays, injury, loss, or damage arising from the operator’s or any third party’s conduct, or from events beyond reasonable control (weather, sea state, port closures, mechanical issues, government action).
  3. You are responsible for disclosing medical conditions, mobility limits, pregnancy, and swimming ability before departure, and for following crew safety instructions. Some products set age limits — for example, a Tripadvisor “Komodo National Park Sunset Cruise” lists ages 12 to 65 and a maximum of 15 per group.
  4. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering water activities. It is not included.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

How do you contact us, and which terms apply?

All bookings and enquiries run through two channels: WhatsApp 628113823875 and email sales@komodoluxury.com. Written confirmations, payment instructions, and reschedule arrangements are issued through these routes, so keep the thread for your records.

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, and any dispute is subject to the appropriate Indonesian jurisdiction. Where the operator’s own booking terms are provided with your confirmation, those operator terms apply to the on-water experience and are read together with these terms.

We may update these terms as prices, schedules, park fees, and regulations change. The version in force is the one published on sunsetcruisekomodo.com at the time you book. All prices, durations, itineraries, and inclusions referenced across this site are stated as of 2026 and are subject to change and to final written confirmation from the operator.
